My workbench and equipment :)

my equipment
This is the place where all the electronics stuff is produced, tested and ... sometimes smoked :-)

  • Pentium Core2Duo Workstation with Windows 7 for programming and pcb design.
  • Very old german powersupply from BEHA with 2x30V/3A. Not very powerful but fully analog and a nice clean voltage *g*.
  • Another powersupply from Thurlby Thandar Instruments with up to 2x60V / 2x20A (!!). Very nice one with a lot of power.
  • Three different signal generators, including a Philips PM5193.
  • Rohde & Schwarz UPL "State of the Art" signal and spectrum analyzer for noise, thd, ... measurements.
  • Agilent digital scope (unfortunately the cheapest one ...)
  • Online UPS System against lightning strikes and power failures.
  • ... and of course a soldering station, very old one from Weller and a handheld multimeter from fluke.

2 x 125W Class D Amplifier with fully digital inputs and soundmanagement

First prototype of this amp.
Here's my second Class D Amplifier with 2x125W@4 Ohms, a fully digital controlable sound management (via I2C) and a superior pcb design with a unbroken ground plane on bottom.

You also have the possibility to attach additional moduls such as a analog/digital converter as shown on the picture. The pcb design also allows a "heatsink-free" usage. Just attach the pcb directly to your amps chassis ;-)

universial analog to digital / digital to analog converter board

Gerber file of first board prototype
The first prototype of my new AD/DA converter board with ASRC is finished and in production since yesterday.

I will expect it within the next three weeks.

Key Features are:
  • Up to 14 audio in- and outputs!
  • High Quality powersupply design for analog and digital power. Digital power has a wide voltage input range, selectable via jumpers.
  • 4 Channel high quality analog audio inputs and outputs with BurrBrown buffers and special audiograde "FineGold" caps.
  • Upgradeable to 6 analog audio inputs and 8 analog audio outputs.
  • 8 Channel digital audio input. Selectable as Master or Slave. Any digital input is routeable to a ASRC via I2C commands. In this case you are able to input any I2S audio source you want.
  • Fully buffered clocksignal outputs. Every output has a own bufferstage!
  • Cost efficient 2-layer pcb design with a nearly unbroken ground plane.
